Inigo History
The company Inigo Recordings Ltd was established in March 2002 and has now become a creative & unique company handling many different aspects of music and new media business, already achieving international status and continually increasing its positive reputation both at home in the UK and abroad.
The managing director Alex Harriman was, and continues to be the driving force behind the company having already assisted his long-time friend & colleague William Campbell-Jones establish the successful Inigo Bar in October 2000.
With the Inigo bar's instant success & incredible musical reputation, Alex & Will ventured to provide a platform in the industry for signed & unsigned talent, enlisting a supportive team who share the same future vision to make Inigo Recordings one of the most innovative new music companies around..
The company initially began as a small dance-based recording studio in Clapham, London and traded as such through 2002 to 2004. It became clear that for long-term survival and growth the company would need to adapt and expand its operations to thrive, with studio environments losing their popularity since technology was getting cheaper allowing a huge increase of home studios. The studio gradually scaled-down its operation, and the music it produced started to become the focus for the future.. The company saw the arrival of talented web-administrator Dom Haseltine to help assist the online growth of Inigo by focusing on the website and internet activities.
In 2005, after a few years of testing the market & conducting extensive r&d in the music industry, Alex developed the company structure into a group of different Inigo brands dealing with many genres of contemporary music. Building reputation & making contacts within the industry has been a key part of the evolution of the company over the years, and the arrival of Kishan Suntokeesing allowed the company to expand its musical activities even further.. Kish embarked on developing the entertainment side of Inigo Recordings, providing nights of live music, boat parties, gigs for their artists, and generally helping out with sales & company administration.
2006 saw the company charge ahead even further with a new licensing division Inigo Distro, dealing with international rights-management and distribution of many different music genres of music to online portals around the world, delivering on behalf of its independent artist and label clients. With a talented team focused on the whole company vision, Inigo Recordings now operated in many areas of musical entertainment and started to handle rights to new media as well as music. Inigo then became a registered music publisher as a means of providing extra services and income for its artists.
In early 2007 Inigo Group was born with the achievement of operating several successful Inigo brands. Throughout the year Inigo Distro has expanded its operations to be one of the key suppliers of western new media content into Asia including China, Japan, Korea and many more countries with growing economies. The record label & publishing activities continued to develop, preparing for a flow of releases in 2008.
In 2008 we will see a large expansion of Inigo Group and the re-launch of the Inigo Recordings label with its talented group of artists. The team now concentrates its energies on further establishing the Inigo brand both in the UK & abroad, already synonymous for quality & integrity and furthering the company’s positive reputation. With various other activities in development including a new IPTV web-based music television station and a new music promotions operation, Inigo Group has set its sights on becoming one of the world's most creative entertainment and media-management companies around..
